Stayput / Alternatives

A Churnkey alternative for small Stripe SaaS

If your cancel flow saves fewer than 44 subscribers a month on a $29 plan, a 20% share of the renewals those saves produce costs less than Churnkey Starter's $250 a month. Stayput charges only that share, and nothing in a month with no saves.

What each option costs

Prices below come from each vendor's own pricing page, read on 3 Nov 2026. “Month with no saves” is what you pay when the flow saves nobody.

OptionHow you payMonth with no saves
Stayput, pay per save20% of the first renewal a save produces$0
Stayput, early accessFree; up to 100 AI cancel sessions a month, 3 flows$0
Churnkey Starter$250 a month billed yearly, for teams under $5k a month in churn volume; 14-day trial, no card$250
Churn Buster, cancel flowsFrom $269 a month by MRR tier; month to month, no commissionsfrom $269
ProsperStack$200 a month for 50–500 cancel sessions; $75 per extra 50$200
CancelFlow$9, $25 or $59 a month by number of embeds and requests$9+

Churnkey's Core and Intelligence plans start at $10k or more of monthly churn volume, so Starter is the plan a small SaaS compares against.

The break-even: how many saves before a flat fee wins

A 20% share of a saved subscriber's first renewal is a fixed amount per save. Divide $250 by it and you get the number of saves a month at which the flat fee becomes the cheaper bill.

Your plan price20% of one renewalSaves a month before $250 is cheaper
$19$3.8066
$29$5.8044 (43 saves cost $249.40)
$49$9.8026
$99$19.8013

Read it against your own numbers: how many cancel attempts do you get in a month, and what share accept an offer and stay? A SaaS with 60 cancel attempts a month cannot reach 44 saves.

What Stayput decides for each subscriber

Stayput reads the reason a subscriber picks and the words they type, then chooses the offer, the wording and the moment for that one person: a pause, a discount, a downgrade, or no offer at all. The limits come first: the largest discount, the longest pause, no offer to a subscriber in their first month. The AI decides inside them, and any decision outside them is rejected before the subscriber sees it. “Cancel anyway” is always one click away.

You can watch it decide before you sign up: the sample cancel session takes 90 seconds, you play the subscriber, and it shows the Stripe change each outcome would make.

Three questions to put to any cancel-flow vendor

  1. What happens in a month with no saves? With a flat fee you pay the full price. With pay per save you pay nothing.
  2. What counts as a save? Stripe's own definition is an accepted offer and a customer still subscribed 7 days later. A looser definition inflates a fee based on saves. See what counts as a save.
  3. Who settles the disputes? Churn Buster's FAQ puts the case for a flat fee this way: “We count every recovery in your dashboard, without disputes about which tool gets credit.” A fee taken only on a renewal Stripe has already paid removes the same dispute from the other side, because the invoice itself is the proof.

Where pay per save fits

Under about 40 saves a month on a $29 plan, you pay less than $250, and in a month with no saves you pay nothing. Use the tables above to compare plans on the day you buy, because prices change.
